Firefighters Put the Flames Out on Back Pain with Teeter Inversion Tables
Host: We hear all the time about the difference Teeter Hang-Ups has made in people’s lives. But we wanted to truly put it to the test. And since firefighting is one of the most physically strenuous jobs that demands so much from your back, we thought, what better place to test it than in a fire station. So we sent a few tables to one of the top fire departments in the country to gauge the impact it had on their lives and jobs.
Jeff: I’ve had several back injuries on the job, and they still nag me. I’ve been using the Teeter for about a month now. I noticed that I was sleeping better at night, I wasn’t turning and tossing. I wasn’t having the stiff back. I felt more relaxed.
Matt: I’ll admit I was skeptical. Before I got on it, I thought, Well, we’ll see exactly what this can actually do for my joints and my back. And when I first got on it, I found it very easy to use. Instantly I was feeling the effects from it. My lower back was feeling better in the mornings and I just kind of felt rejuvenated getting off it every day.
Jake:Because I do have a history of lower back injuries, the thing that I liked about the Teeter is that it really allows my lower back to relax. I feel like it decompresses my spine.
Jim: Back injuries can be detrimental to a person’s career. It can be detrimental to our patients, and it can be detrimental to the other crew members if somebody injures their back and are unable to perform, especially in the middle of an incident.
Mandy: Firefighters often have all these weight compressing their spine for the entire duration of basically our work shift, especially if we’re on a fire call. So being able to come back and off all that weight and then decompress your spine makes perfect sense.
Matt: After a while with dealing my joint pain, it gets where I just, Ah, that’s just the way it is and not much I can really do about it. I’m working out, I’m stretching, I’m staying active, but I guess that’s just the way things are for now. Just have some lower back pain. That’s just the way it is. So when I started using the Teeter, I noticed that was improving immediately, and my knees as well. The Teeter’s had a major impact on my life.
Jim: For me, I’m in my 50’s now and having that ability to release the tension in my back with the Teeter is great. I love it.
